The Sentry Barracuda Fire Safe OA3817 is a dual lock, electronic combination and key lock fire safe designed to protect paper and digital media such as disks and external hard drives from fire for up to 120 minutes and includes a recommended cash rating of £2,000.*

The Sentry OA3817 is also water resistant for up to 24 hours and 30 feet drop tested.

Pros

A surprising amount of internal space despite a small footprint. Very easy to use and the added advantage of being able to bolt the unit to the floor.

Great peace of mind for storage of data back-up hard disks and paperwork, valuables etc. Excellent value for money and well worth purchasing. You can't put a price on the security of precious items and valuable data.

Cons

Initially had a bit of a problem getting the safe open but soon realised that that rechargeable batteries we were using were able to power the display but wouldn't activate the door opening. Alkaline batteries solved the problem however.

Pros

Good size, adjustable trays, hanger for keys and a removable tray document. Easily fits a netbook, or 15" notebook.

Cons

Uncomfortable with the fact there is a universal skeleton unlocker. Both a pro and a con really but feels somewhat unsafe.

Was a little fiddly having to put batteries and screwing it in. Manual isn't 100% accurate with the model.

Pros

It's a good solid little safe that does exactly what it's supposed to. Light enough to move around but heavy enough you'd not want to walk off with it. For some important papers and a couple of bits of jewellery, it's fantastic.

Cons

If you've got the thing tucked away, the buttons could do with being a bit more clearly labelled, but you rapidly learn to do it by memory. I've still not dared drill the holes to floor mount it since the manual doesn't make it clear how the fire rating is effected by the holes.

Pros

good size for cost and easy to use. Proved relatively simple to move with a trolley.

Cons

installing batteries was awkward as it took some effort/grip to untwist the keypad.

This product is equipped with a battery powered electronic combination lock. This type of lock only allows entry when a PIN code is entered into the keypad. The PIN code is user changeable and the combinations can range from 4 up to a maximum of 16 digits.
