Being a novice to safes I went for a well known name and I wasn't disappointed. I wanted a safe to use for a few personal belongings at home and did not want to unpack the safe every time I went in it. The space is great you can get quite a lot in it and the shelf very useful. The shelf can also be removed if desired. The lock and keypad is easy to use and the audible alerts help. Seperate master keys are provided just in case, there are two. Batteries were easy to fit. The fixings provided were adequate but easy to fit and will do the job.An internal light would have been useful but I purchased one seperately.

Unfortunately my device arrived with slight cosmetic damage, paintwork and a small dent, I assume from the delivery company, there was damage to the packaging as well. Not excessively heavy so could be handled easily into its desired location. Security was simple to set up and easy to use. Easily handles A4 folders (have to be laid flat). The shelf was an added bonus.

Purchasing from this company was very easy, quick delivery.

Excellent customer service that quickly responded and replaced a battery cover that became dislodged and damaged during transit.

Excellent home safe. Well priced. Easy to use. Not fire resistant but adequate for home use to store documents etc that can be put in fire resistant bags.The movable shelf and the separate over ride keys are an added bonus.

Great little safe for keeping those papers that need to be kept! Not sure how good it would be for the Crown Jewels but I haven't got them anyway! Good choice for fixings, floor, back, etc. so no complaints

How do we change the code on our safe please?

With the door open and unlocked press the red programme button located on the edge of the battery compartment (Audible Beep). Now enter your desired code onto the keypad followed by the ENTER button to confirm (Melody Confirmation). The code entered should now be usable as your personal access code. For a copy of the instructions there is also a User Guide available for you to download from the website. For further assistance please contact our sales office on the number at the top of this page.

How long could a set of batteries be expected to last? Is there any warning of low battery?

Good quality AA batteries should last between 12 and 18 months. When the batteries are running low a red light will appear on the keypad when entering your code.

I am wanting to purchase a safe for my home and was wondering if it had to be bolted to the wall or floor before it worked? In other words can I just leave it in situ without bolting it down.

We will always recommend that a safe is bolted to a floor or wall where possible as this increases security. The safe will function exactly the same if left free standing and can be used as such, but the potential for it to be removed is obviously increased. It may also affect your insurance cover if not bolted to a solid surface.

On the Yale Value Safe, where is the key hole for the back-up lock out key? And is it in the same place on the smaller laptop version? I want to be sure that, where I have in mind to fit it, the hole will still be reachable if needed. Many thanks.

The key hole is hidden behind the yellow Yale logo on the front of the door. The logo slides upwards to reveal the key hole and this applies to all sizes in the Yale Value Series.

If you take a look at the close up images above you will see one showing the logo has moved and the back-up key has been inserted.

Does the safe come with any factory default pin?

This Safe does not come with a factory default pin. In order to gain access to the safe without a pin code you would need the to use the back up key provided.

Can this safe be fitted to the floor of a freestanding wardrobe?

Ideally you should not attach the safe to anything that is freestanding, it is recommended to base or wall fix it to concrete or brick. If you have no option other than the cupboard it is certainly better then nothing.

Standard Safe <25kg Installation

We offer professional installation on our complete range of lightweight safes under 25kgs.

Our experienced engineer will complete a brief site inspection and then discuss their findings with you to agree positioning of your safe.

Your installation will include bolting the safe to the floor or wall using the anchor bolts included with your safe. Anchor bolts are designed for use with a solid surface such as brick or concrete. We cannot install your safe to floorboards or a stud plasterboard wall.

If you are choosing a wall installation you must ensure the skirting board has been removed prior to installation.

The position of your safe will be governed by safe site access, and other obstructions such as submerged pipes/cables or under floor heating.

The engineer will carry out a final assessment to ensure the safe is secure before providing a brief demonstration of your safe and confirming the installation has been completed to your satisfaction.

Additional Information

Non-standard Installation

In some cases, it may be necessary to install additional materials or provide extra resources (manpower) to facilitate an installation in a safe manner.

If additional costs are likely these will be discussed with you prior to installation. Reasons for extra costs might include:

  • Specialised access equipment and permits such as hoists, lifts and cranes.
  • Outside of normal hours working (Mon-Fri, 9am to 5pm).
  • 4x4 Vehicular access requirements to remote rural sites.
  • Road closure including necessary permits.
  • Additional manpower to overcome technical, lifting or safety access issues.

We offer installation throughout the UK mainland, however some more remote and rural post codes in the Highlands are subject to a surcharge to cover additional fuel and traveling time costs.

The following areas will incur a rural travel surcharge:

These additional elements are deemed to fall outside the definition of a 'Standard Installation'. If you feel your installation might be non-standard please contact us to discuss your individual requirements.

If applicable, additional costs are to be paid before installation begins.

Warranty Terms & Conditions

Our installer provides a standard 12 month warranty on all new installations and a 3 month warranty on all materials provided during maintenance visits.

Note: Existing system components and pre-supplied equipment are not included in the installation warranty as these elements are covered by the Manufacturer warranty.

We reserve the right to undertake an ‘Assessment Call’ without prejudice to investigate any complaints relating to materials failure or poor workmanship to assess if the complaint is valid. Please note that remedial service calls generated by elements outside of our sphere of influence or due to different fault conditions will be chargeable to you at an agreed call out charge.

In scenarios where you request a post installation service call and our assessment identifies the fault condition or cause of the fault falls outside of the limitations of the standard installation warranty (Force Majeure, different fault etc) a call out charge will be incurred for the visit.

Assessment calls raised for reasons outside our sphere of influence or responsibility and not covered by the standard installation will incur a call out charge for labour and additional materials.

The following are examples of when a call out charge would be incurred:
